ABOUT THE EVENT
Between May 21 and 23, the project arranged the second face-to-face course for vocational education teachers in Skellefteå, Sweden. Skellefteå Municipality together with Adult Education hosted the Battery Production course. The course theme was “Battery Production”, and there were approximately 30 participants, vocational teachers in various disciplines from seven different European countries.
During the course, the participants received training in a number of subjects related to battery production, by talented teachers at VUX in Skellefteå. The courses were initially built on theoretically having prior knowledge, and then being able to be in a lab environment and work practically as well as study visits in the real business at Northvolt.
The participants also got an exciting tour of Sara Kulturhus in Skellefteå, which has a new modern electrical system where they included Lithium batteries from Northvolt in their large hotel business. Here, the participants received a tour and presentation from the construction of the world’s largest wooden building to a state-of-the-art electrical system. The presentation was given by a representative from Skellefteå Kraft.
The participants also received a presentation about the upcoming major investment ACE Artic center of Energy, which will be built in Skellefteå and build on a new large high-tech training center where companies and the education system meet each other.
The three days ended with a learning Café, where they discussed highly topical pedagogical issues linked to the challenges the new learning faces in the rapid restructuring that is now taking place around the need for new educational efforts. Here, the participants also got to network and create networks with colleagues from other countries through social activity, which is central to the future that awaits us, where we need to create a greater community across borders to meet and create a greater equal education.
